Uwe Steinhoff
Uwe Steinhoff ist ein deutscher Philosoph. Er studierte Philosophie, Psychologie und Politikwissenschaften an der Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt (Promotion in Würzburg). Von 2002 bis 2003 arbeitete er als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin und von 2004 bis 2007 im Oxford Leverhulme Programme on the Changing Character of War (CCW) an der Universität Oxford. Seitdem ist er Assistant Professor am Department of Politics and Public Administration der Universität Hong Kong.
Von kriminologischer Relevanz sind Steinhoffs moralphilosophische Arbeiten zur politischen Gewalt. Ein Zwischenergebnis dieses Projektes stellt die Beschäftigung mit den ethischen Aspekten des Krieges sowie des Terrorismus in seinem 2005 erschienenen Buch "Moralisch Korrektes Töten" dar.
