In der deutschen Diskussion spielt die Control Balance Theory bislang keine große Rolle. Vielleicht gibt es auch deshalb noch keine eingeführte deutsche Übersetzung des Begriffs "[[Control Balance]]". Die intuitive Übersetzung als "Kontroll-Balance-Theorie" ist naheliegend und nicht ganz verkehrt. Andererseits besitzt das Wort "balance" neben vielen anderen Bedeutungen auch diejenige von "Saldo" (= Differenz zwischen Soll und Haben). Tittle's Gebrauch des Begriffs (z.B.
