+The unsolved drug policy question has a strong negative dynamic. Like a maelstrom it engulfs the lives of young people, their parents and families. It nurtures persecution, torture, killings, and corruption of police and hardens the hearts and minds of millions of ordinary citizens who are led to believe that there are lives that do not matter. It gives an easy justification to the lack of social solidarity and the ever growing gap between the haves and the have-nots, between the ruling and the ruled, the dominant classes and races and the subordinate ones. Imperialism is not a finished chapter in the history books, it is still with us and becoming ever stronger. Its justifying discourses are those on drugs and terrorism. Behind them there is the the cold-hearted strategy of holding the helotes down, of changing regimes in whole world regions, and of destroying them rather than learning to live together.
