Many people think the funniest thing about drugs is laughing your ass off when you are high on laughing gas or when you are giggling without end when smoking marihuana. When you are afraid of doing it yourself, you can watch people on YouTube who laugh their heads off while on grass (as pessoas rir-se-ão a bandeiras despregadas; Rir a bandeiras despregadas rir à toa; rir aberta e sinceramente, sem paragem, com muita vontade e prolongadamente.). That can also be funny.

But then you grow up and you notice that fun is not the only thing. You might lose a friend or a family member to drugs. Parents who mourn their only child because of an overdose must not be blamed for finding nothing, but nothing at all funny about drugs. When you have looked at drugs from both sides, you stop expecting something funny every time the word or the substance of drugs is being presented. And you are right. It is true that drugs can bring pleasure, but it is equally true that they can bring pain, and there is nothing funny about that.

Moreover, on the macro level, you can see whole communities being devastated by drugs like by a tornado.

The navy is considered the most successful Mexican force in the drug war, with marines proving to be the best trained and least corruptible. Marines killed the head of the Beltran Leyva cartel in the city of Cuernavaca in 2009 and captured Zetas cartel leader Miguel Angel Trevino near the U.S.-Mexico border two weeks ago.

Navy officers have rarely been targeted by the gangs despite clearly setting their eyes on drug criminals. In August 2011, nine Mexican marines were abducted.

Other top officials have died, such as Edgar Millan, who was the acting head of the police before he was gunned down in 2008 inside his Mexico City home, possibly in retaliation for investigating drug trafficking at the airport.

The government has tried to bring down homicides related to drug fights, and recently scored a victory with the capture of Trevino, who was feared by many for the Zetas' brutal killings of migrants and scary tactics on foes. But the fight in Michoacan is heating up and proving to be President Enrique Pena Nieto's main security challenge.

Since Tuesday, gunmen apparently working for the Knights Templar cartel have been staging a series of attacks on federal police convoys, killing at least four officers and wounding five others. The death toll from the clashes also included 20 gunmen. Authorities said gunmen have hijacked trucks and buses to block highways before making their attacks.

Pena Nieto sent thousands of troops and federal police to the area two months ago because of a surge in violence stemming from a reported fight between the Knights Templar and a gang called the New Generation, based in neighboring Jalisco state. Vigilante groups have also been sprouting up this year, and regular citizens have staged demonstrations demanding more protection.

President Calderon indicated that although he was opposed to legalising drugs, he would be open to a debate on the issue.

"You have to anlayse carefully the pros and cons and the key arguments on both sides," he said.

Last year, three former presidents, Ernesto Zedillo of Mexico, Cesar Gaviria of Colombia, and Fernando Henrique Cardoso of Brazil, said the US-led war on drugs had failed and called for the legalisation of marijuana to be considered.

The latest Mexican figures represent a big jump on the previous estimate of 24,800 dead released in July.

Since Mexico's President Felipe Calderón began an all-out assault on drug cartels in 2006, more than 50,000 people have lost their lives across the country in a nearly-continuous string of shootouts, bombings, and ever-bloodier murders. Just last weekend, 49 decapitated bodies were reportedly discovered on a highway in northern Mexico. The New York Times reports on an increasing numbness and apathy among Mexicans after years of worsening carnage, about which they've been able to do virtually nothing. In 2007, Mexico and the United States had started a $1.6 billion war against criminal groups without knowing who the enemy really was.

Auch wenn man da schon unterscheiden muss zwischen Drogenfolgen und Drogenpolitik-Folgen wegen mangelndem Zugang zum Recht: auf jeden Fall ist die Sache selbst nicht lustig. Genau wie Verkehrstote oder Zigarettentote.

2. [Lustigkeit ist im Kern schockhafte Entlarvung des schönen Scheins]

Lustig sind zum Beispiel gute Witze. Das Wesen des Witzes. Witztheorie. Freud. Bergson. Schock. Solche Schocks gibt es auf der Ebene der Drogenpolitik und des Drogenrechts und der -justiz. Da kann man sehr wohl von lustigkeit sprechen. Beispiele. Justiz: der kiffende Richter Drogenrecht: Verfassung vs. ADG Drogenpolitik: keine Politik ist so von den Sekundärgewinnen bestimmt wie die ADP; absurder Aufwand und geringster Primärerfolg

3. [Das Lustigste ist, dass es die Lösung längst schon gibt - wir sie aber trotzdem nicht zu sehen scheinen]

Zigaretten. Belege: es funktioniert auch ohne Strafe.

4. [Der Einwand der Unvergleichbarkeit]

Wesentlich Ungleiches muss ungleich behandelt werden. Stimmt einerseits stimmt andererseits nicht to the extent früher heute weiß man: bei cannabis war es früher ähnlich heute: normal-literatur; colorado etc. summary einwand 2: geht nur bei cannabis, nicht anderswo scheint plausibel, ist es aber nicht siehe heroin, siehe kokain, auch schon normal

5. [Das Allerlustigste ist, dass wir sogar die Verpflichtung schon festgelegt haben, eine vernünftige Drogenpolitik zu machen, nämlich in der Verpflichtung auf ein rechtsstaatliches Strafrecht]

Eigentlich genügte ein Blick in die Verfassung. Die ist sehr gut. Rechtsstaatliches Strafrecht. Der Rest ist für nudges. letztlich freiheitsfrage und menschenrechtsfrage sache für nudges siehe tabak man kann auch alle umbringen oder in arbeitslager stecken. okay. kommt drauf an, was man will. eine freiheitliche gesellschaft ist möglich. und ist es wert.
