David Kauzlarich, geschäftsführender Herausgeber der Zeitschrift Critical Criminology: An International Journal (ab 2013) ist seit 2017 Professor für Soziologie und Dekan des Fachbereiches Soziologie an der University of North Carolina at Greensboro.[1]

Zuvor war er 20 Jahre Professor für Sociology and Criminal Justice Studies an der Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois (USA). Seine Interessen sind state crime and violence, human rights violations, victimology und critical criminological theory sowie music and resistance to state violence. Zu seinen wichtigsten Veröffentlichungen zählen Explaining Crime: A Primer in Criminological Theory (mit Hugh D. Barlow), Introduction to Criminology (mit Hugh D. Barlow) und Resisting State Violence: The Role of Music.

1994 wurde er an der Western Michigan University in Soziologie promoviert.[1]
