Definition

The Chromatic Taxonomy of Criminologies is a new concept of iconic language or iconicity, a new science that studies the visual lenguage from few cientific views based in concepts from cultural antroprology and social science

The Chromatic Taxonomy of Criminologies starts from the idea to give a meaning in colors to the different ways which build criminology. The first book about this concept was written by Piers and Nigel South at 2007. They wrote “Issues in Green Criminology”, a concept based on scientific criteria and concepts from cultural anthropology and social sciences.

This scale gives us a labelling of Criminology based on colors trying to portray multiple realities and their objetives in a consistent and integrated manner, in such a way that it build communication codes which are able to recognize automatically the differents realms of Criminology in order to make it easy for people to search, identify and make a mental representation in a fast and visual way.

Green Criminology

Green is a color which has been linked to the enviroment. It is a color to represent the Criminology related with nature and enviroment crimes. In other way, Green is a color also linked with fresh, armony, nature, freedom. The common law talks about “Green Criminology”, specializing in crimes, offenses and harmful behavior to enviroment.

White Criminology

White is a color that has been linked with purity, chastity. The White Criminology is related with economic crimes and fraud. There are crimes without direct evidence. In other way, White is a color also linked with innocence, clean, refined and sterile.

Red Criminology

Red is a color which has been linked with danger. The Red Criminology is related with blood crimes, homicide, murder and injury. A lot of people think that Red Criminology is the most significant realm from Criminology. In other way, Red is a color also linked with action, adventure, danger, blood and violence.

Yellow Criminology

Yellow is a color that has been linked with jolly, but certain yellowish may seems deterioration of whiteness. Yellow Criminology is related to drug offenses. In other way, Yellow is a color also linked with the sun, happiness and jolly.

Orange Criminology

Orange is a color which has been linked with youth and enthusiastic. Orange Criminology is related to scientific Criminology, a Young science which wants to resolve crime through science and evidence of a crime. In other way, Orange is a color also linked with something vibrant, exciting, fun, cheerful and ambitious.

Pink Criminology

Pink is a color that has been linked with the femenine. Pink Criminology is connected with crimes against women. Crimes where the sufferer is a women, crimes against sexual freedom or abuse. In other way, Pink is a color also linked with sweetness, delicacy and welfare.

Black Criminology

Black is a color which has been linked with secret. Black Criminology is related to organized crime and its characteristics. In other way, Black is a color also linked with the strong, authority, classic and serious.

Purple Criminology

Purple is a color that has been linked with the spiritual. Purple Criminology is related to Victimology. The victim and his right to be respected, heard and valued. In other way, Purple is a color also linked with justice, ceremonious and nobility.

Blue Criminology

The Blue Criminology is the most complicated. Blue has a lot of tones and Blue Criminoly is also divided in tones:

Light Blue Criminology

Light Blue Criminology is related to prevention, mediation, rehabilitation and reintegration. The light blue tones are also linked with fresh.

Navy Blue Criminology

Navy Blue Criminology is connected with applied Criminology. Professionals and institutions of state security forces, prosecutors, judges and forensic experts. The navy blue tones are also linked with authority.

Brown Criminology
