Arthur MacDonald (1856-1936) war der Autor von "Criminology" (1892; mit einem Vorwort von C. Lombroso). Erster Nachweis der Benutzung des Begriffs "Kriminologie/Criminology" in den USA. Das Buch charakterisiert den Autor als "Specialist in Education as Related to the Abnormal and Weakling Classes, U. S. Bureau of Education; Member of the Medico-Legal Society, New York, and the Anthropological Society, Washington, D. C., and U. S. Delegate to the International Society of Criminal Anthropology at Brussels, 1892".
