In dem Buch wird der Autor charakterisiert als "Specialist in Education as Related to the Abnormal and Weakling Classes, U. S. Bureau of Education; Member of the Medico-Legal Society, New York, and the Anthropological Society, Washington, D. C., and U. S. Delegate to the International Society of Criminal Anthropology at Brussels, 1892".
