Tom Tyler

Der US-amerikanische Psychologieprofessor Tom R. Tyler (* 3. März 1950) wurde vor allem für seine Forschungen über die Frage der Bestimmungsgründe für die Befolgung von Gesetzen bekannt. Des Rätsels Lösung lautet: Verfahrensgerechtigkeit (procedural justice).

Tyler war von 1987-1990 Professor für Psychologie an der Northwestern University. Es folgten berufliche Stationen an der University of California, Berkeley (1990-1997) und New York University (1997-2011).

Seit 2012 ist Tyler Macklin Fleming Professor of Law and Professor of Psychology an der Yale Law School.
