Der holländische Sexualwissenschaftler Theo Sandfort (* 3. Januar 1953) war Vorsitzender der interdisziplinären Abteilung für Lesbische und Homosexuelle Studien an der Universität Utrecht (NL) und Direktor des Forschungsprogramms "Diversity, Lifestyles and Health" des Niederländischen Instituts für sozialsexologische Forschung.

1984 publizierte Sandfort einen Forschungsbericht über Interviews mit 25 Jungen zwischen 10 und 16 Jahren, die zur Zeit der Interviews sexuelle Beziehungen mit erwachsenen Männern hatten. Die Interviews hatte er in den Wohnungen der erwachsenen Männer durchgeführt.

2001 emigrierte er in die USA, wo er am HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies forscht und als associate professor für Clinical Sociomedical Sciences (in Psychiatry) an der Columbia University tätig ist.
